D'Artagnan, a gourmet-meat purveyor committed to free-range, natural production and sustainable, humane farming practices, will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special dinner on Monday, October 26, at Intro. The five-course dinner will be prepared by Chefs Stephen Gillanders and Aaron Martinez (respectively, the incoming and outgoing chefs at Intro), Doug Psaltis (RPM Steak, RPM Italian), Mike Sheerin (Embeya) and David Posey (opening a to-be-named Chicago restaurant in 2016), together teaming up to create courses featuring an amazing assortment of D'Artagnan venison, duck, foie gras and other products. Chapoutier (Rhone Valley) wines will be matched to each course. D'Artagnan Philosophy D'Artagnan is at the vanguard of the farm-to-table movement, being the leading purveyor of foie gras, game meat, organic poultry, pâtés, sausages and smoked delicacies in the nation. It is well known by boutique-food-market shoppers and savvy online buyers for being committed to free-range, humane farming practices. The purveyor partners only with small farms and ranches that have strict standards, never use antibiotics or hormones and sign affidavits to that effect. By supporting these methods and being dedicated to the D'Artagnan philosophy we at Intro can offer you the best-tasting, conscientiously-raised meat possible. The Greater Chicago Food Depository is Chicago’s food bank — a nonprofit food distribution and training center that provides food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. Last year, the Food Depository distributed 68 million pounds of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 155,000 meals every day. By presenting the 30th D'Artagnan Anniversary Dinner, Intro is very proud to be a part of the movement to end hunger in our community.
